It seems the resulting style of my sketches/paintings differ based on how I'm feeling 🤔 I wasn't particularly inspired with this reference but I went ahead anyway because the brushes I ordered have arrived (one was in good condition; the other was injured 😏) and wanted to test them out. Also, I wanted to do a city scene without greenery lol

So here's something that's exploring the angled brush and mucking about in general. When I finished, I wasn't too bothered that things are a little too loose and hazy - felt quite happy that it turned out nicely enough 😄

I was immediately smitten by the reference photo from a real estate company here 😂 so I went for it. As usual, I got myself into a few tight spots, not quite sure what to do with them🤔: the washed out lighting from the street-level stores, the yellow-orange lit bar areas, the motion blur light streaks from a car, the chiaroscuro on the trees.. what the hell I'm just playing anyway 🤷‍♀️

There are lame attempts at tuktuks and I tried to block the bar area with people so I won't have to create an effect that makes it look credible because I didn't know how 🤣🙈🙊 Adding that to my To-Study list ☝

In any case, I think the foreground shadow experiment turned out nicely. The night sky, which started out as a disaster, worked out 😅 Just don't zoom in on the areas outside the palm trees 🌴

Shrimp my ride 😆 The contraptions you come across when you go off the beaten track just a little bit 😅 This one is a pet fish shop on wheels. Usually you see these rigs getting about moving furniture or construction materials, but this one is fully pimped out with glass tanks from which the owner sells all kinds of pet fish 🤣 I have a short video of it on my Fb page so go & check it out there 😉

Q1 2021 is done 🤯 I sprained both knees ringing in the New Year and this is where I nursed myself, icing both knees in the bathtub. It took weeks (!! 😨) to get back to moving normally, unconsciously and to regain most of my range of movement. Even when sleeping, I had to remind myself not to just jerk myself lest I injure myself again or pull something else 😅

Then suddenly I noticed I could kick the blankets off of me like I usually do 🥳 Three months have passed indeed and glad that I don't have to walk like someone just kicked me in the balls.
