The second edition of Le Club Bettane+Desseauve’s super successful regular rendezvous for food and wine lovers in Ho Chi Minh City is set for Thursday, Oct. 1 at Hoa Tuc Restaurant in District 1’s Refinery dining precinct off Hai Ba Trung Street.
Bettane+Desseauve’s wine tasting events provide wine lovers of all persuasions the opportunity to meet and mingle over a selection of wines based on a theme for each evening.
The inaugural edition held in July at The Hive Villa in District 2 saw close to 100 people sample 24 different wines, all from France in the name of Bastille Day, France’s national holiday.

In attendance was the French Consul who was on-hand to launch the evening, as well as co-founder of Bettane+Desseauve – Thierry Desseauve – who, while based in France, popped by online to welcome attendees and took the opportunity to reinforce that Bettane+Desseauve is eager to continue guiding amateurs in their choices and understanding of wines.
“A great many wines are now present in a very active wine market that’s growing in volume, but most importantly in quality, as Vietnamese are becoming more interested in and more knowledgeable of wine,” he said. “This is where Bettane+Desseauve are happy to play the role of guide.”
This time round will be a mondo vino affair with a selection of more than 20 sauvignon and cabernet wines from around the world presented by participating importers.

Lovers of fresh, floral white wines will be happy to know that Australia will be well represented thanks to RADA Vietnam and others.
And not to be outdone, the much-adored New Zealand-style sauvignon blanc and the more discreet Sancerre style will also be pouring.
Meanwhile, enthusiasts with a taste for sun-ripened, tense and structured red wines will be well-catered for with New and Old World varieties served in Riedel glasses, the international benchmark when it comes to wine tasting glasses.
In addition, Hoa Tuc’s exceptional Vietnamese dishes will pair beautifully with the white wine selections, while the red wines are bound to send you on a sensory journey to many a distant shore.
