HR and business professionals across the Southeast Asia region are coming together to help remote places affected by the lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative is a webinar series called HELP and LEARN – headed by Vietnam-based startup Up Up technologies – together with PRAXIS associates and over 20 community and media partners.
The webinar series covers recruitment, job hunting, management and leadership topics during and after the COVID-19 lockdown.
The webinar series will begin on Friday Apr. 24, at 10am (+7GST) with the topic, “Managing Employees from a Distance – The Basics of a Work-From-Home Setup”.
Sharing their expertise will be Mr. Quintin Bernard, former Organisational Development Director of Central Group Vietnam; Ms. Sam Javier, Managing Partner at PRAXIS; and Mr. Jamie Duncan, Head of Learning and Development at UpLearn.

The webinar will cover a variety of topics, such as how companies can shape corporate culture during the lockdown, what tools are available in the cloud that organisations can use, how to identify the most appropriate tools for their specific organisation and how to implement an effective learning and development program that works for remote workers.
“People-centric conversations should continue even during quarantine or cases of lockdown in other cities. This is an opportunity for managers and leaders to reflect on how we manage, recognise and train our employees in the next decade,” says Paul Espinas, Founder of Up Up Technologies.
There are currently over 60 households that received food packages from the HELP & LEARN webinar series.
Organisers and partners are aiming to reach more in the succeeding weeks of the campaign as more online sessions on recruitment, job hunting, employee well-being and mental health topics are aired through the series.
