As 1,500-plus people descended upon Bali’s recently opened Café del Mar on the shores of Canggu, it became apparent that something special was about to happen.
The air was electric.
There is no denying that in just a matter of months since opening its doors, Café del Mar Bali has cemented itself firmly on the map as the premium not-to-be-missed lifestyle destination venue.

The Mediterranean-inspired architecture meshes firmly with the Bali beach vista and Insta-worthy cocktails to encapsulate Café del Mar’s ethos of “gathering simple and universal concepts in a unique natural environment with music as a soundtrack to the special moment.”

Kicking off with a healthy dose of local talent, Scott Pullen and Ben Burgess hit the decks to warm up the crowd, with Bali Praia co-founder and one of the hottest DJ’s on the island, Mikey Moran, slated to close out the night.

The crowd swelled, the drinks flowed and the energy ramped up with revellers beginning to hit the dance floor as the tunes clearly began to hit the spot.

As the sun began to make its majestic descent on another tropical balmy Bali evening, overseas heavy-weight Erick Morillo took to the decks with tunes that rapidly had the dance floor seething with bodies and the crowd lathered in sweat.

With an extended three-hour set kicking off at 6pm, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see the supremely talented and instantly recognisable DJ / Producer / Label Boss play a unique and mesmerising set – a rare moment given Morillo’s demand as a headline-late night artist which ordinarily sees him hit the decks at midnight.

Touted as one of the most dynamic performers, Morillo proved yet again why he is considered one of the greats.

Morillo’s ability to deliver a Dionysiac sensory explosion as he seamlessly transitioned through genres resulted in an epic experience and left the crowd begging for more.

If you missed this one, check back soon as there are more big announcements for future sets to come at Cafe del Mar.
