Negroni Week Vietnam launches in style this Sunday Jun. 23 from 7pm with a Kick-Off Party hosted by Campo Group, the Vietnam distributors of Campari liqueur, at popular Saigon bar Drinking & Healing.
In attendance will be Symphony Loo, Southeast Asia Brand Ambassador for Campari, along with D&H resident head bartender and winner of the 2018 Campari Vietnam Bartender Competition, Vien Du.
Established by Imbibe Magazine in 2013, Negroni Week is a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an opportunity to raise money for worthy charities.
Running from Jun. 24 to Jun. 30, Negroni Week, which also coincides with the 100th anniversary since the Negroni cocktail’s creation, has expanded to almost 10,000 venues globally and has raised $2 million for great causes.
This year in Vietnam, it’s expected that close to 50 bars and restaurants (up from five last year) in Saigon and Hanoi will participate in the week-long festivities by mixing classic Negronis and Negroni variations for guests, incorporating a “mystery drinker” competition to determine which bar or restaurant serves up the tastiest Negroni in Saigon.
This year’s chosen charity for Negroni Week Vietnam is the Surfrider Foundation, an organisation dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches.
To celebrate the launch of Negroni Week Vietnam this Sunday evening Jun. 23, the first 100 guests to arrive at the party will receive a small Campari gift and free tastings from a line-up of tasty Campari signature cocktails.
