Avant-garde Saigon “snack” bar NHAU NHAU is launching its highly-anticipated “NHAU NHAU – SESSIONS” this month with an eclectic inaugural line-up featuring local and international mixologists going “back-to-back” with resident innovative food wizard Chef Peter Cuong Franklin.

First up on Thurs. May 9 (6pm to midnight) is “Canadian Sake Samurai” and Beverage Director for Yardbird, RONIN and Sunday’s Grocery in Hong Kong, Elliot Faber. In 2017, he also co-founded Sake Central in Hong Kong and Saigon.

Elliot will create a special sake menu for the evening, paired with Chef Franklin’s Vietnamese nhau drinking food. It’s Japanese izakaya culture meets Vietnamese nhau drinking and food culture. Elliot will also serve up a masterclass for a select group of up-and-coming young bartenders in Saigon while he’s in town. Don’t miss this session!

On Sat. May 18 (6pm to midnight) NHAU NHAU welcomes a man of many talents – artist, bartender and mentor to a new generation of young bartenders in Vietnam – Richie Fawcett. The Saigon-based Brit founded hidden and uber-chill “speakeasy” The Studio Saigon where most of his more innovative and quirky cocktail creations are hatched.

Richie will produce a retrospective of the best drinks to have emerged from his “den” The Studio Saigon and pair it with the wizardry concocted by award-winning Chef Franklin.

This session will be an opportunity to witness two of the city’s most creative minds go back-to-back as they create drinks and dishes that only they can conjure up. Don’t miss it!

Then in June at a date yet to be decided, it will be Jay Khan’s turn to partner up with Chef Franklin at NHAU NHAU. Jay is the co-founder and beverage director behind COA Bar on Shin Hing Street, Hong Kong and was crowned “Ultimate Bartender of the Year” at the RPB Bartender Invitational 2018.

Jay’s collab with Chef Franklin will see him pair Mexican-inspired cocktails with modern Vietnamese street food, so don’t miss this session!
