This welcome addition to the scene has just about all the bases covered for drinkers and foodies. Where do we start? Well, first is location. Tap Out is right in the heart of “party town” near infamous Bui Vien Street a.k.a. “backpacker street” in District 1.

Once here you can park yourself at the bar and order from a wide selection of local and imported craft beers. East West, Pasteur St, Heart of Darkness, Rooster and Te Te are all here representing the foamy best Vietnam has to offer on tap, while that cheaper old favourite, Tiger, is served up as draught or by the bottle. A selection of German and Belgian beers are sold by the bottle, too.
The Saigon Tattoo Expo 2018 is on Nov. 10 & 11. For more information, CLICK HERE
Take note groups. A highlight of Tap Out is that small groups can actually order a keg delivered to their very own tap table (ah, yes, that’s right, a keg to your own tap table) where they can serve themselves all day and all night if they want. What could possibly go wrong?!

Tap Out caters to cocktail lovers as well with an eclectic selection of tasty cocktails on a list that changes regularly depending on seasonality of ingredients. They won’t break the bank either, with prices ranging from as low as VND120,000 to VND180,000.
After a big night out, forget the juice bars because Tap Out’s Celery Sour made from gin, celery and lime juice, egg white and bitters will give you that little pep-up you need after a big one the night before and get you some way towards hating yourself less because you’re back on the booze again so soon. This thing actually has some pretty healthy properties, at least compared to what you’re likely to down at other places close by in the neighbourhood.

One of the more cheekier cocktails we’ve seen on a cocktail list in Ho Chi Minh City is the Cherry Blossom. Made with gin, cherry liquor, Dom Benedictine, lime juice, five spices and egg white, it’s then garnished with a sage “spliff” that when lit, in all intents and purposes, looks and smells like the real thing…apparently.
Then there’s the Sour Honi cocktail made from local ingredients, including the rum from a local distiller somewhere down in the Delta swamps not too far from here. This drink comes together with smoked pineapple and char-grilled infused rum, banana liqueur, lime juice, pineapple reduction and egg white, and represents the growing movement in Ho Chi Minh City cocktail bars towards more sustainable drinks made with ingredients that in the past may simply have been tossed out into the alleyway and left to rot.

Tap Out has an extensive food menu with burgers and sandwiches, ribs, steak, fish and chips, and a tasty bourbon chicken breast coated in a sweet and sticky bourbon sauce, topped with goat’s cheese and avocado and a choice of sides.
Open from 11am daily.
