A new boxing gym — Cocky Buffalo — has opened in Ho Chi Minh City's District 7, approximately 10km from the centre of the city. The main gym on the third floor has a regulation-size boxing ring and a number of punching bags and speed balls.
The boxing gym is spacious with floor to ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light during the day.
Cocky Buffalo also has a space on the second floor for martial arts training, such as Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Classes are scheduled every day of the week at various times of the day beginning from 10am each morning, however, the gym is open from 6am until 10pm daily.
The gym caters for both teenagers and adults with memberships ranging from VND3 million (US$130) per month for teenagers under 18 years old to VND32 million (US$1,400) for adults for one-year.
Cocky Buffalo has foreign trainers who have boxed as amateurs and professionals. They also have extensive coaching experience at both levels of boxing.
On the ground floor, the gym has a pro-shop that sells boxing attire by Adidas.
